The Notre Dame men’s basketball team defeated Montgomery San Diego 76-56 in the first round of the CIF State playoffs Wednesday night.
The win advances the Knights to the second round, where they will face St. Joseph of Santa Maria, the No. 3 seed, on Saturday at 6:00 PM.
The winner of Saturday's game will face the winner of the Roosevelt-Harvard Westlake game in the semifinals. Roosevelt, the No. 1 seed, and Harvard Westlake, the No. 4 seed.
The Knights will look to carry their momentum into the next round as they continue their push for a CIF State Championship.
