Sherman Oaks, CA – Notre Dame High School is proud to announce Sam Gillman as the new Head Coach of the Men’s Beach Volleyball team. Gillman brings a strong combination of high-level playing experience, coaching leadership, and a passion for athlete development to the Knights’ program.
Gillman most recently served as Assistant Coach at Catalina Foothills High School, helping guide both the indoor and beach volleyball teams to competitive success. He has also coached with Sidewinder Volleyball Academy and will begin a new coaching role with Southern California Volleyball Club this summer.
A standout collegiate player, Gillman helped lead the University of Arizona Men’s Club Volleyball team to a national title in 2022 and earned the Outstanding Sportsperson of the Year Award. He later transitioned into coaching, including a successful season as Head Coach of the University of Arizona Women’s Club Volleyball team.
“Sam’s energy, technical knowledge, and ability to connect with student-athletes make him a tremendous addition to our beach volleyball program,” said Notre Dame’s Athletic Director. “His experience at both the high school and collegiate levels will help our athletes grow on and off the sand.”
Gillman’s leadership will begin immediately as he prepares the Knights for the upcoming season.
