Over the weekend, Notre Dame’s returning Mission League Champion Girls Beach Volleyball Team made a statement at the 4th Annual Early High School Beach Volleyball Tournament at North Beach, Santa Monica. With 236 athletes and 118 teams on the sand, the Knights delivered one of the most impressive performances of the entire event.
Notre Dame secured wins over a long list of strong programs, including Archer, Mira Costa, Marymount, Ventura, Windward, SAMO, Pacific, Notre Dame Academy, Campbell Hall, Mammoth, and Chaminade. All five varsity pairs advanced to the playoff brackets—the most of any school in the tournament, underscoring the depth and dominance of the Knights’ lineup.
Sophomores Anya Brach and Reese Kehrli were unstoppable, powering through the competition like a freight train on their way to the championship match, ultimately earning an outstanding 2nd-place finish. Fellow sophomores Ariella Aponte and Francesca Morgan also delivered a standout performance, securing a strong 5th-place finish.
The Knights’ momentum extends well beyond the tournament. This season, they’ve opened league play with two 5–0 sweeps against IMAC & Marymount, added another 5–0 sweep in non-league play against Campbell Hall, and currently hold a perfect 3–0 league record. With the wind at their backs, the Knights now look ahead to their next matchup: a league showdown against Harvard-Westlake at Ocean Park South, Santa Monica, on Tuesday, February 24th.
Let's Go Knights!
