THREE KNIGHTS GET DRAFTED BY THE MLB

Three former Notre Dame baseball standouts have been selected in the 2026 Major League Baseball Draft: Dean West ('23), Justin Lee ('23), and Jacob Madrid ('26).

West, an outfielder at UCLA, was selected in the seventh round with the 222nd overall pick after completing his junior season. During his time at Notre Dame, he helped lead the Knights to a CIF State appearance.

Lee, a right-handed pitcher at UCLA, was chosen in the 20th round with the 609th overall pick. He also just completed his junior season and was a key contributor to the Knights' CIF State appearance before continuing his career with the Bruins.

Madrid, a recent Notre Dame graduate and standout catcher, was selected in the 13th round with the 390th overall pick. He capped off an outstanding high school career by helping lead the Knights to another successful season before hearing his name called on draft day.

All three players made lasting impacts on the Notre Dame baseball program, helping build a tradition of excellence while continuing their baseball journeys at the next level. Their selections in the MLB Draft are a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the strength of Notre Dame's baseball program.
