HUNTER GREENE HONORED WITH 2026 MOST VALUABLE PHILANTHROPIST AWARD

Notre Dame High School baseball alumnus and Cincinnati Reds pitcher Hunter Greene (’17) has been named a recipient of the 2026 Most Valuable Philanthropist Award, presented by The Players Trust, the charitable arm of the Major League Baseball Players Association.

Greene is one of just six Major League players selected to receive the honor this season. The award recognizes players who have made a meaningful impact in their communities through charitable work and service beyond the game. Each recipient is awarded a $10,000 grant to donate to the charity of their choice.

Since making his Major League debut in 2022, Greene has remained committed to giving back. He has supported Notre Dame High School, partnered with Chozen Grace, and served as a mentor through the MLB Dream Series, helping aspiring athletes pursue opportunities to play baseball at the next level.

Greene's impact is especially evident at his alma mater. He established an endowment at Notre Dame High School that provides tuition assistance and mentorship to African American students with limited financial resources, creating opportunities that have positively impacted many Knights.
