Last Saturday the Womens Freshman Volleyball team did it again, winning the 39th Annual 2024 Whittier F/S Cardinal Classic Tournament! This fresh off their Valencia F/S Classic Gold Division Tournament win the previous Saturday. The Knights now have back-to-back tournament wins!
Notre Dame went undefeated in pool against St. Paul, La Serna, and Paramount. In playoffs the Knights defeated, Norwalk, Oaks Christian, St. Josephs, and Rosemary HS in the finals to clinch the tournament win. Whittier Cardinal Classic was a 56-team tournament, so this one was a big win for the team.
We go into today's home game against Culver with an undefeated league record of 6 - 0 and finish off the tournament season with a record of 16 - 2. Losing only to Mira Costa's, and Marymount's JV teams.
MVP of the tournament goes to Freshman Setter/OPP Shay Taylor who had so many kills I couldn't keep count.
Goes without saying I'm very proud of these athletes for coming together as a team and overcoming adversity especially in the semifinals.
